The Bournemouth Symphony Chorus send our Congratulations to our President Richard Blackford, on his receipt of an Ivor Novello Award on 1st December 2020 for his composition Pietà, which triumphed in the Choral Category. The Ivor Awards are the UK's most prestigious composition awards and the BSC is very proud of this recognition of the excellence of his work.. The BSC commissioned Pietà last year and recorded the work with the BSYC, BSO Strings, Chris Dowie and Gavin Carr conducting. Amy Dickson, Jennifer Johnston and Stephen Gadd were the other soloists.
The Ivor Novello Awards replaced the British Composers Awards and is managed by the PRS.
