The concert includes his work "Babel" for which Richard won Making Music Awards 2023 Best Music Creator for Leisure-time Music Group.
Bournemouth Symphony Chorus are delighted to offer congratulations to our President, Richard Blackford, on his Making Music award for Babel. Commissioned by The Camden Choir, London for its fiftieth anniversary and first performed on 20th March 2022 at Cadogan Hall, London conducted by the composer.
The Making Music Awards shortlists and winners are decided by a panel of experts drawn from across the music sector. Winners were announced on 5th October at a celebratory evening hosted by Making Music to honour the creativity and efforts of the music community. Making Music represents up to 4,000 groups and the awards celebrate the music creators, arrangers and innovative new music projects contributing to the musical life of the UK.
Bournemouth Symphony Chorus will be performing Babel twice in 2024:
